Uzochukwu Mbamalu holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and studied business and entrepreneurship at the college of business, University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer as well as co-founder of Manamuz Electric LTD, an electrical and renewable energy services company operating in Enugu, Nigeria.
Here he wears different hats as he plays managerial, technical and business development roles depending on what needs to be done to move the company forward. He has over six years of experience in the solar energy industry as a technician, design engineer, and project developer.
Uzochukwu is a 2018 Mandela Washington fellow and during his time in the United States, he was exposed to the American electricity industry. He also participated in the 2018 German solar PV project development training week in Nairobi, Kenya which gave him an understanding of the German solar energy industry as well as provided an opportunity to interact with industry experts in East Africa.
He was also a finalist at the African Energy Ideas competition organized during the 2017 Nigerian Energy Forum in Lagos, Nigeria.
Uzochukwu remains committed to the fight against energy poverty, he is a strong believer in capacity building and would continue to work towards helping Nigeria achieve an energy secure future.
At #StartupAnambra2 gathering, Uzochukwu will focus on the future of energy and how young people can get started/involved. He will also share his wide range of knowledge on how you can disrupt from within.
